Christmas Devotional Expression of Gratitude

Lucy and I attended the Houston Texas Temple Christmas Devotional last night, an event which I’ve grown to look forward to each year for music and the spoken word. One of the talks given reminded us that gratitude is a key expression of our faith in Jesus Christ.

That being true, individual efforts through prelude music on the harp, along with vocal solos and the choir set the tone for the entire evening and deserve our gratitude. The choir was an unrehearsed gathering of volunteer voices comprised of temple ordinance workers, practicing together only an hour or so prior to performing as a group. We were presented spiritual gems as they filled the air with the sound of angels; perhaps heavenly messengers filling their ranks, as to be compared with the Tabernacle Choir.

I’ll leave it at that, the Christmas Devotional was a spiritual gift which I am grateful for; a reminder of how music touches the soul in ways that no other medium can. May the Spirit of Christmas be present in your lives is my Christmas wish for you.
